About Us
Our Story
Built in Bengaluru. Made for people who choose fun over “cool.”
How it began
We spent an unreasonable amount of time trying to become “weekend people.”
The kind who enjoy clubs, networking brunches, overpriced cocktails, long drives, comedy shows, and loud bars — music loud enough to damage cartilage.
Very quickly, we discovered something important: we are deeply indoor people.
One day, we found our people
Then we built for them.
One rainy Bengaluru evening, half out of boredom and half out of “what’s the worst that can happen,” we dragged ourselves to a board game meetup. Then came another. Then more. Then came TTOX. We went in curious. We left with fewer financial instincts and significantly more board games.
Soon our house became game night headquarters. Friends stayed longer. Families showed up more often. Nobody needed alcohol to have a good time. Nobody needed to scream over music. The games did the heavy lifting.
Then came the problem
One order became two. Two became twenty-five.
We wanted games we’d played at meetups and conventions, but half of them simply weren’t available in India. So we did what any rational people would do: annoyed friends abroad, overfilled luggage space, imported games anyway, and accidentally became the people everyone started asking for copies from.
So we took the plunge and started Squircle Games — say SKWUR-kuhl (IPA: /skwɜːrkəl/).
No big launch campaign. No dramatic founder thread. Just genuine love for the hobby, obsessive curation, and a growing Indian tabletop community that welcomed us with open arms.
A while later, we returned to the same convention where we’d once panic-bought too many games. Only this time with our own store. And honestly, that felt pretty surreal.

What we believe
Our Values
Buy Games You'll Actually Play
We don't believe in shelf-fillers. Every game we bring in should earn table time, not just storage space.
Host More. Scroll Less.
Some of the best conversations happen when nobody's looking at their phones.
Community Over Gatekeeping
You don't need to know 400 rules, own expensive games, or call yourself a "hobby gamer" to belong here.
Curated, Not Crowded
We're intentionally picky. If a game makes it to Owls On Board, there's a good chance we've argued about it extensively already.
Play Deliberately
We're building for slower evenings, louder tables, and the kind of memories people actually remember.
